Who we are

The amateur sports association Alta Valtellina Vertical was born from the experience gained between 2015 and 2021 in the educational and competitive field of indoor sport climbing. It aims to teach this discipline divided into its three different specialities. They will be recognized in the next 2024 Olympics in Paris such as Lead (difficulty on the wall with the aid of the rope) Speed (speed on the wall with the help of the rope) Boulder (difficulty on the wall max height 4.5 mt without rope with protections on the ground). Alta Valtellina Vertical immediately availed itself of the fruitful collaboration with CAI Valdidentro (subsection of CAI Valtellinese) with which it shares spaces and passionate and willing people. With the aim of rafforzare this collaboration, AVV shares the same headquarters as the CAI subsection in Via Nazionale 18 Valdidentro. It is a non-profit organization, by its nature based on volunteerism and with the sole purpose of promoting and training indoor sport climbing at various levels.

Where we are

Alta Valtellina Vertical uses the new climbing facility built in Valdidentro to better prepare its young athletes for the competition promoted by the F.A.S.I. (Federazione Arrampicata Sportiva Italiana) with which it is associated. The facility is equipped with walls designed in such a way that all three disciplines can be trained with fun and in total safety. An area above the lower floor is dedicated to motor and mental muscle strengthening through special equipment and suitable exercises.

Proposed activities and objectives

The training activity is intended for children of various age groups with a focus on competitiveness considered essential for healthy growth both fixed and mental. It is also extended to people with disabilities from various local cooperatives and adults approaching climbing to make it their sporting activity. For the proper conduct of AVV make use of instructors trained by the relevant Federation F.A.S.I and qualified personnel with a degree in exercise science. Non-profit sports activities are also promoted to the various schools in the district complying with what is promoted by Miur. Sunday promotional activities dedicated to boys Under 14 who decide to approach this discipline for the first time are promoted in collaboration with CAI Valdidentro. The designated spaces are made available free of charge to the various organizations dedicated to Mountain Rescue.
