Gioventù Semogo
Origins
The A.G.S. was founded in Semogo around the 1930s by a few young people from the village.
Aims and objectives
Its aim is to unite the male and female youth of the village in initiatives of interest to the association or benefit to the village, "carrying on" the traditions of the past.
In achieving these goals, the A.G.S. unifies its activities with respect for Christian values and morals.
To date, some fifty young people between the ages of sixteen and twenty-seven are enrolled in the A.G.S..
As far as organizational management is concerned, a board is appointed at the beginning of the year, consisting of five members: the president, vice president, counselor, secretary, and cashier. The board convenes a members' meeting once a month or so, during which the objectives to be achieved and the initiatives to be developed are decided.
In concrete terms, the AGS participates in parish community processions with typical costumes; organizes events and festivals for the village of Semogo (the most important is "La Festa del Bosco"); makes itself available for service at special events (festivals, award ceremonies, sporting events, etc.); animates and participates in weddings in the village and elsewhere; promotes initiatives aimed at bringing young people together, in particular festivals, trips to the mountains and elsewhere, games.
