Banda Musicale Santa Cecilia

History

The "S. Cecilia" Musical Band of Valdidentro was born in Semogo in the autumn of 1961, counting among its members two players from the previous band, which had disappeared before the Second World War.

Directed by Maestro Angelo Trabucchi, it immediately began its activities with courage and determination, taking part in cultural, folk, and religious events in the main town and various municipalities of the province, including the Alpine soldiers' meetings of the Tirano section, as well as sporting events at a national level, in particular, the World Ski Championships in Bormio in 1985 and 2005.

Since July 1996, it has promoted the annual 'Valdidentro Band Festival - Music and Folklore', which sees the participation of music and folklore groups from various provinces in Italy and abroad.

Since 2011, the direction of the band has been entrusted to Maestro Alessandro Pacco, who, with his energy and determination, has brought enthusiasm and new stimuli for continuous improvement.

Particular attention is paid to the pupil school and the young aspiring musicians, some thirty of them to date: always held in high regard, they are a real asset to the Band.

Purposes and objectives

• make music known;
• grow musically and personally within the association;
• create aggregation;
• enhance the role of associations in the village context;
• promote the Valdidentro area through music.

Training proposals

• Grow up listening, aimed at children aged 3 to 7 years. It is a propaedeutic music course that teaches children to approach listening to music through games that involve them and make them aware listeners.
• Music course, aimed at children from 3rd grade upwards. It is a course structured in two lessons, one individual with qualified teachers and one of ensemble music, also for the aggregative aspect.
