Gruppo Alpini Semogo

Origins

March 28, 1967: an unforgettable date. A group of friends sitting around a table over a glass of good wine, talking about more and less, had the brilliant idea of forming the Alpine Group of Semogo.

Lanfranchi Attilio was appointed group leader, a position he held for 20 years. In the years to follow, Lanfranchi Michele, Trabucchi Romeo, and Trabucchi Guido succeeded at the head of the Group.

Currently, the Group Leader is Romeo Trabucchi.

Aims and objectives

In these almost 60 years, the Alpine Group has worked to contribute to the growth of the village. In the parish sphere, among the various interventions, the logging in the 1980s, the construction of bleachers in the green sports area in collaboration with the school, and participation in the "Festival of Trees."

Every July, the Semogo Alpine Association organizes its traditional Alpine gathering. In past years, the event was held in Foscagno.

The Civil Defense

The Civil Defense Group A.N.A. of Simogo was born in 1993 and was immediately "adopted" by the Municipality of Valdidentro as the local Civil Defense Unit. The Group's first outing was on September 3/4/5, 1994 in Brinzio (Va). The Group has participated in numerous exercises organized at the provincial, grouping, and municipal levels. Until a few years ago, it was also equipped with a forest firefighting team. Operational interventions following natural disasters include the initial one in Alexandria in 1994 following the flooding in Piedmont, then in Umbria and Val d'Aosta, and most recently in Abruzzo for the April 6, 2009 earthquake emergency.
