First date with the traditional and evocative Valdidentro Choral Singing Festival
Now in its XXIII edition, it represents a fixed and unmissable event during the Christmas Holidays, hosting numerous regional choirs and beyond.
Organized and promoted by the Stelvio Choir, directed by Maestro Matteo Bertolina, the Festival includes two evenings this year: one in December at the Isolaccia Church and one in early January at the Premadio Church.
Performance by the Voci dell'Orobica Choir from Seriate, directed by Gian Franco Freguglia.
The evening is introduced by the Stelvio Choir, directed by Maestro Matteo Bertolina
Free entrance
Born in November 2017, the original nucleus of choristers is made up of Alpini who were part of the military choir of the now disbanded Orobica Alpine Brigade that was based in Merano (BZ). The choral group certainly wants to evoke the origin, opening today to welcome into its ranks those who remain fascinated by mountain singing and, more generally, by choral singing in its various facets.
Recent performances include the prestigious animation of the Milan Cathedral liturgy in May 2019 as well as the artistic performance of the 2020 Orobie Film Festival in Bergamo.
The love for the songs of military and folk tradition also drives the choir today to the study of a repertoire that goes beyond the traditionally alpine and sacred song: a world that, although far from military culture, shares its horizons of the values sacred to man, of the search for what surpasses us and, why not, represents the origin of any form of choral singing.
